Ask them for a game so you can have some dialogue and experience their sportsmanship, etc. Once, or if, you decide they would be a good addition to the club then send GreyWolf BoB (mehenshaw1 [at] aol.com) their data (the particulars).
This should reflect the process we are working with
1) New player requests member to sponsor him.
2) Sponsor checks the sticky post in the "New Member" forum to see if someone else is already sponsoring this person. If not, he posts the name of the new player and his own name into the "New Member" forum.
3) Sponsor starts and finishes a game with the new player
4) Sponsor sends GreyWolf BoB an e-mail with the particulars (see below) once he thinks the new player iis fit for membership
5) GreyWolf BoB sends an Email to the sponsor directing him to check out the FAQ Thread, "How to Sponsor a New Member."
6) New member establishes his Yuku account. (Important! his nickname must be his club name!!!)
6a) Important: If his desired nickname is already taken and he choses another nickname, he (or his sponsor) must inform Greywolf about the name change
7) New player makes his Yuku access application post (see below)
Email traffic between new member, GreyWolf BoB and sponsor until it is confirmed he has been accepted onto the Yuku.
9) GreyWolf BoB sends out e-mail to new player and sponsor, confirming new player's entry into the BoBster, with a password for entering games and enters the new player on the BoB members list with the next update.
10) Sponsor starts a welcome thread on the board.
The only requirement for sponsoring a new member is that the current member doing the sponsoring feels the new guy would be a good addition to the club and is willing to be responsible for him during his first three months in the club.
So if someone you are familiar with and believe would be a good member wants in then you may sponsor him immediately.
If someone you don't know asks you to sponsor him then, providing you have the desire and the time, you ask him for a game so you can have some dialogue and experience their sportsmanship, etc. If you do not have the time - ask one of the other members that have expressed thier desire to sponsor new members (by having a "Yes" in the sponsorship column of the members list) to do it. You can also post a request in the club forum. However, if you are asked by a new player - it is your task to get him another sponsor.

Getting the New Member an Yuku ID
If the new member already has a Global Yuku ID then they may use that. If they don't have a Global ID then they will need to set one up (Local Yuku IDs won't work on the BoB board anymore). Here are the steps to get registered on Yuku.
1. Use the "SIGN UP" button at the top of the Yuku forums, located above the "WE BAND OF BROTHERS" banner. Here is a link that shows the process in detail: http://support.yuku.com/topic/6843
2. Now that you are registered with Yuku, you need to get approved for the Band of Brothers message board. Start by logging in on the Band of Brothers message board using your new Yuku ID and password.
3. Now try to post a new message or reply to an existing one. A message will appear saying you need to be approved to post on the BoB message board with a button for you to click to request approval. Click on the button and I will approve your ID as soon as I see it on the list of IDs requesting approval.
