ok boys, got a nividia gt6600 installed on a gigabyte GA-7N400 Pro 2 Nforce2 chipset
i was given a whole new pc from a mate, minus his hard drive cause he did a complete upgrade
this is a whole new pc for me and ive only just bought a hard drive and just installed windows xp on it
having issues with it reading card sometimes and when i get it to see it as in new hardware, im having trouble installing right drivers, i have no cds with the pc, and have just purchased a new hard drive and installed windows on it, the closest ive got was it looked as though it was gonna install after finding card, but halfway through its asks for nv4_mini.sy i search through my new formatted xp pro and find something similar to what it wants, then it will start to install again but stops and says please insert manufacturors disc, which i dont have
i have put these 3 software into it and have had no luck
93.71 forceware winxp2k eng whql
162.62 quadro winxp2k eng whql
163.75 forceware winxp 32 bit eng whql
on installing them after attemping them all separatly i had various issues of the pc not even stating at all, i have used safe mode best known last config to get it back to desktop and i dont no what to do next, ive searched 100s on driver threads, but dont really no what im looking for as well it might be something else not right as well
atm it says under display properties/settings that display is default monitor on............. nothing
and under advance tab it says adapter information unavailable
under device manager under display adapters it has a yellow exclamation mark Video controller (vga compatable)
im stuck as to what is going on, as not even having motherboard drivers either, maybe i havent installed them correctly either? i downloaded them from a gigabtye site after looking for help on here
im hoping it might just be a driver issue re video card, would someone no? and maybe put a link as to what i need, as if im sent to a nvidia site or watever, i wouldnt no what to look for
so direct link to driver would be good
ive read that sometimes the gt6600 performs better on older driver versions to
ok boys thx for ya help
